Women's Soccer posts 7-1 win on Senior Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Jessica Lee scored her first goal of the season and added three assists to propel the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team to a 7-1 win over Curry College Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

First-year Anna Button added a pair of goals to give her a team-leading six on the season as the Wildcats notched their third conference win of 2026 (5-7-1 overall). Senior Brynn Leahy, along with sophomore Megan Kearney and first-years Ashley Simmons and Mia Mangano, also found the back of the net for JWU, which outshot the visitors 30-6.

The Wildcats exploded for three goals in the opening 20 minutes of the match to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Button's two goals were sandwiched around one from Lee. Curry then got on the board late in the first half to slice its halftime deficit to 3-1.

In the second half, Keaney headed in her first of the season off a corner from Lee at 56:44 to push the JWU lead to 4-0 before Simmons, Leahy, and Lee all scored in a span of 8:34 to make it a six-goal cushion.

Senior Ava Vaughan recorded three saves to notch her fourth win of the season; she also made her first appearance as a first player late in the second half. Vaughan, along with Leahy, Lee, and classmates Sophia Warburton and Alexandra Szelag, were honored prior to the match for their contributions to the program.
