PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) wrestling team saw three student-athletes place second at the 2026 Wildcat Open Saturday at the Wildcat Center.

In the 285 lb. bracket, freshman
Brayden Soleau placed second as he fell to Carl DiGiorgio (Coast Guard) in the finals via major decision (14-2). Sophomore
Tyler Colclough finished the day in fourth as he forfeited his semifinal match to Soleau.
Sophomore
Zach Miller went 4-1 and placed second at 184 lbs., falling to Jamie Evarts (Williams) in the finals. Junior
Jack Richardson (165 lbs.) also finished second as he dropped a decision to Landon Kearns (Coast Guard). He finished the day with an identical 4-1 mark.
Freshman
Anthony Fernandez took fifth in the 197 lb. bracket after winning four matches, the last being a triumph over Gabe Monroe (Coast Guard) in the blood round.
Graduate student
Thomas DiResta (197 lbs.) placed sixth after recording five wins. He slipped against Kyle Csikari (Coast Guard) in the wrestleback.
Sophomore
Jared Spahn and junior
Luke Montefusco finished 5-6 at 149 lbs. Spahn picked up six wins, the last being a medical forfeit win over his teammate.
