Track & Field Opens season at Suffolk Relays

ROXBURY, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) women's indoor track & field team kicked off the 2025-26 campaign at the Suffolk Relays Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Graduate student Aliyah Wilson claimed second in both the 60m dash (7.94) and 200m dash (26.82).

Junior Olivia Weldin took third in the high jump (1.50m) and 14th in the long jump (4.45m). Classmate Ayevah Marinez finished fourth in the 200m dash (27.30).

Junior Lena Nicholson claimed second in the weight throw (15.28m) while classmate Erika Sanders was fifth (12.63m).

Freshman Rhiana Thomas (9.79m) and sophomore Lauren Stanger (9.55m) took fourth and seventh in the shot put, respectively.

The sprint medley relay team of Wilson, Marinez, and juniors Lulani Haslinger and Fallon Preble finished second with a time of 4:36.77.

Other highlights included:
  • Preble finished ninth in the 200m dash (28.01)
  • Junior Valenah Mahabal took 11th in the high jump (1.40m)
  • Junior Ava Wilder placed 12th in the long jump (4.50m)
