Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Corbally scores only goal in 1-0 win at Salve Regina

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Sophomore Cailean Corbally scored the game-winning goal – and the first goal of her collegiate career – midway through the third to lift the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team to a 1-0 win at Salve Regina University Saturday evening in non-conference action at St. George's Rink.

Classmate Katelyn Cardoso turned aside all 29 shots she faced to record her second career shutout and help the Wildcats improve to 3-1-0 with the win. Junior Sadie Davignon and sophomore Jordan Hopping picked up assists on Corbally's tally.

Davignon also won 9-of-15 (60.0 pct.) of her face-offs in a game where her team was outshot 29-25. Senior Kylie O'Keefe, along with junior Brynn Leahy and sophomore Kailin Kane, all blocked three shots to help the Wildcats record their first shutout of the season.
