PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore
Nevaeh Arnold led all student-athletes with 17 kills as the JWU (Providence) women's volleyball team knocked off Rhode Island College 3-0 in non-conference action Thursday night at the Wildcat Center.
The Alpharetta, Georgia native finished the night with a .517 hitting percentage as the Wildcats won 25-19, 25-23, 25-11 to secure their 10th win of the season. Senior
Katelyn O'Brien recorded eight kills (.571 hitting pct.) while freshman
Vivi Mansfield threw down 11 kills.
JWU closed the night with a .351 hitting pct., getting contributions up and down the lineup. Senior
Ajie Jagne tallied eight kills, sophomore
Sophia Diphilippo and freshman
Sophia Santacroce combined to post 41 assists, and senior
Sierra Nausieda recorded 16 digs.
After grabbing a 1-0 lead, the match turned in the second when JWU ripped off eight-straight points to turn a 20-15 deficit into a 25-23 win.
Prior to the match, the Wildcats honors their four seniors – Nausieda, Jagne, O'Brien, and
Hannah Pereira – for their contributions to the program. Pereira received her most extensive playing time of the season and picked up a service ace and one dig.
