Bison upend Wildcats in CNE action, 3-1

HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Junior Kylie O'Keefe scored her fourth goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) women's hockey team in a 3-1 loss at Nichols College Friday night in Conference of New England action at Levy Rink.

Freshman Jordan Hopping and junior Allyson Barry recorded assists for the Wildcats (8-9-2, 5-6-1 CNE), who received 22 saves from freshman netminder Katelyn Cardoso. The Bison outshot the Wildcats 25-20 and went 27-of-46 in the face-off dot.

O'Keefe opened the scoring :49 seconds into the second period as JWU converted on the PP to grab the lead. Nichols tied the game less than two minutes later and scored the eventual GWG with three seconds remaining in the period; both goals came on the power play. The Bison tacked on an insurance marker with seven minutes remaining in regulation.

Seniors Madi Fox, Harmony Chicoose, and Reese Middendorf all recorded three blocked shots for JWU.
