Women's lacrosse downs Worcester St., 13-8

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Madeleine Gould racked up six points on three goals and three assists in a 13-8 win for the JWU (Providence) women's lacrosse team Thursday night in non-conference action at John Coughlin Memorial Field.

Senior Maris DiBeneditto added four goals and junior Isabella Nugent picked up two goals and two helpers for the Wildcats, who improved to 4-3 with the win. JWU outshot the Lancers 31-22 and received 13 saves from junior Emma Glyman.

The Wildcats led 5-2 after one and 9-3 at halftime behind four markers from DiBeneditto and four points from Gould (2-2-4). Second-half goals from Gould, Nugent, along with sophomore Izzy Babb and Isabella Nugent, helped hold off WSU over the final 30 minutes.

Gould and junior Neely Connor combined for 11 draw controls while Connor led all field players with five ground balls.
