Men's lacrosse takes to the road to defeat Gordon, 10-5

WENHAM, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) men's lacrosse team raced out to a 4-1 first-quarter lead and never looked back in a 10-5 win at Gordon College Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Brigham Complex.

Junior Donny McInnis paced the Wildcats (2-1) with three goals while freshmen Jack Davis and Jack Donnelly each found the back of the net twice. Junior Jackson Vecchio and freshman Quinn Madden each registered two points for JWU, which saw graduate student and preseason All-America Mike Catuosco go 14-of-18 on face-offs and collect 11 ground balls.

Junior goalie Chris April turned aside 25 shots as the Wildcats were outshot 46-29 on the afternoon. The visitors led 6-3 at the break before scoring three of the first four goals in the second half to open up a 9-4 lead on the Fighting Scots.
