BRISTOL, R.I. - The JWU-Providence wrestling team defeated in-state rival Roger Williams University 31-16 Friday night in a New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) duel at the RWU Campus Recreation Center.
The Wildcats won the first five matches of the evening as sophomores 
Adolfo Betancur (285 lbs.) and 
Harrison Gordon (125 lbs.), junior 
Joziah Fry (133 lbs.), graduate student 
Nicholas DeSola (141 lbs.), and junior 
Jordan Suarez (149 lbs.) all secured points. Gordon, Fry, and DeSola all recorded tech fall victories while Betancur and Suarez won via pin.
Later, freshman 
Jack Richardson secured a major decision win at 165 lbs. to close the scoring for JWU.
