PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) men's lacrosse team opened the 2024 campaign with an 11-5 loss to Massachusetts Maritime Thursday afternoon in non-conference action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Donny McInnis scored a pair of goals and added an assist for the Wildcats, who also received a pair of goals from graduate student
Greg Centeio and another from junior
Kyle Marcinko. Graduate student and preseason All-America
Mike Catuosco won 11-of-16 at the X and finished with 11 ground balls.
The Wildcats and Buccaneers were tied at two after one before the visitors ripped off four goals in the second and the first two of the third to build an 8-2 lead. JWU climbed to within three at 8-5 early in the fourth, but MMA reeled off three-straight to pull away and secure the win.
JWU was outshot 44-30 and went 1-for-4 with the extra attacker.
