Women's hockey season ends with 2-0 loss at top-seeded Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The No. 8 seed JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team saw its 2023-24 campaign come to a close with a 2-0 loss at No. 1 seed Norwich University Saturday afternoon in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Quarterfinal action at Kreitzburg Arena.

The Wildcats (6-18-2) were outshot 40-12 and received 38 saves from senior netminder Leah White. Junior Reese Middendorf was credited with a team-high eight blocked shots and also led the team with three shots on goal.

Aimee Headland scored the only goal the Cadets would need 6:21 into the first period. Norwich added an empty-netter with 1:04 remaining in the third to advance to the semifinals.
