WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The JWU (Providence) men's soccer team saw its 2024 season come to a close with a 2-1 loss to No. 1 seed University of Saint Joseph in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship.
Sophomore
Bruno Teixeira scored his fifth goal of the season for the Wildcats, who finish the season with a 15-3-3 record. Teixeira, along with graduate student
Aidan Bagley and junior
Carlos Andrade, were each named to the All-Tournament Team. Bagley finished the tournament with five points (2-1-3) while Teixeira and Andrade each tallied twice.
The Wildcats outshot the Blue Jays 7-4 in a scoreless first half before falling behind on a goal by Dane Stephens at 58:37. The home team doubled its lead at 80:53 when Henry McGarrah V netted his 13th goal of the season. Teixeira knocked in a feed from Andrade with 6:30 remaining to give the Wildcats a chance before the clock hit zero.
