Women's Volleyball takes down Blue Jays, Sharks in three

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The JWU (Providence) women's volleyball team secured a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) wins over University of Saint Joseph (CT) and Simmons University Saturday afternoon at James A. Calhoun Gymnasium.

Wildcats 3, Blue Jays 0 (25-5, 25-10, 25-16)
Graduate student Peyton Oliver notched seven kills (.353 hitting pct.) and seven digs as the Wildcats cruised past the Blue Jays in just over one hour. Freshman Finleigh Benkwitt tallied six kills while freshman Skylar Winchester picked up 12 digs, three aces and three kills, and classmate Nevaeh Arnold registered 13 assists, three aces and four digs. Sophomore Drew Leonardis was credited with five digs.

Wildcats 3, Sharks 0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-19)
Oliver paced the Wildcats with 10 kills to go with five digs and two aces. Benkwitt chipped in with seven kills and five digs while Arnold collected 17 kills, four kills, and three aces. Junior Sierra Nausieda notched a team-high 13 digs, junior Ajie Jagne went for five kills and two blocks, senior Myla Domazet notched three kills, and freshman Sophia Diphilippo handed out 10 assists. With the wins, JWU improved to 17-11 on the season and 11-2 in conference play.
