Josh Zangerle and sophomore
Izaiah Shaw-Glen each scored 15 points to help the JWU (Providence) men's basketball team secure a 66-60 win in overtime at Eastern Nazarene College Thursday night in non-conference action at the Lahue Athletic Center.
Zangerle added eight boards and Shaw-Glen snared seven, and each recorded two steals for the Wildcats. Junior
Jonah Phang picked up seven points, 12 rebounds, three steals and a pair of blocks while graduate student
Aireus Raspberry scored 14 points and dished out seven assists.
The Wildcats shot 43 percent from the field and outrebounded the Lions 44-35. Eastern Nazarene connected on 35 percent of its field goal attempts and went 7-of-8 from the charity stripe, compared to 8-of-12 for JWU.
Shaw-Glen led all student-athletes with 11 first-half points as the Wildcats held a 27-25 edge at the break. The Lions tied the game with 17 seconds left in regulation to force OT, where junior
Sean Duke scored the first two baskets to stake the visitors to a 60-56 lead. Shaw-Glen added two more baskets in the final 2:12 of the extra session to seal the win.
