Four second-half goals propel Wildcats past Raiders

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Graduate student Aidan Bagley scored a pair of goals and junior Conner Elliott collected two assists in JWU-Providence's 5-0 win over Rivier University in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer opener Tuesday night at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Freshmen Bruno Teixeira and Vincent Tredici both netted their first collegiate goals for the Wildcats (1-1-1), who scored four times in the second half and earned their first win of the season. The win also marked No. 143 for head coach David Kulik, moving him past Gregg Miller and into sole possession of first-place on the program's all-time wins list.

Bagley scored the only goal the Wildcats would need midway through the first half when he headed in a long ball from Elliott at 22:26. JWU scored twice in a span of 4:09 in the second half as Bagley's third of the season and Teixiera's marker stretched the lead to 3-0. Markers from sophomore Carlos Andrade at 72:27 and Tredici 2:20 later capped the scoring.

Graduate student Jacob Friedman recorded two saves in goal for JWU, who outshot the Raiders by a 21-3 margin.
