PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University softball closed its regular season with a sweep of Norwich University Friday afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Game One: Wildcats 10, Cadets 2 (5 inn.)
Sophomore Caroline Amorelli went 2-for-2 with a three-run home run for the Wildcats, who pounded out 12 hits and scored in all four turns at-bat. Junior Julia Huzi laced a two-run single while classmate Hailey Erickson and freshman Jadyn Torres each picked up RBI singles. Graduate student Livia Feole allowed eight hits and two runs over four innings in the circle for JWU to move to 7-3 on the season.
Game Two: Wildcats 15, Norwich 0 (5 inn.)
Pulek and Amorelli each drove in three runs while graduate student Megan Antaya went 3-for-3 with an RBI for JWU, which collected 16 hits. Huzi also drove in two runs and scored three times while Feole laced an RBI single for her first hit and RBI since 2020 and sophomore Hailey Martins ripped a double to centerfield. Junior Sage Borkowski allowed one hit over three innings with three strikeouts to earn her seventh win of the season.
