NEW LONDON, N.H. – Junior Maris DiBeneditto scored four goals in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 13-8 win at Colby-Sawyer College Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's lacrosse action.
Sophomore Madeleine Gould added four goals for the Wildcats (12-2, 12-0 GNAC), who can secure the top-seed in the conference tournament with a win Wednesday night against Simmons. Senior Taina Gamory collected a goal and three assists for JWU while senior Margaret Johnson went for a goal and two assists, and also won six draw controls.
The Wildcats led 7-3 at halftime behind a pair of goals from both Gould and DiBeneditto. The Chargers got to within two goals at 8-6 late in the third before four-straight goals from JWU – including two from junior Katie Sloan – gave the visitors a 12-6 lead with 10 minutes remaining.
Sophomore Emma Glyman stopped seven shots to improve to 12-2 on the season.
