PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Brent Rickett scored a career-high five goals in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 19-3 win over Anna Maria College Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's lacrose action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Rickett also added a pair of assists while senior Noah Fye racked up eight points (3-5-8) for the Wildcats, who extended their win streak to five and improved to 8-1 on the season (4-0 GNAC). Seniors Alex Padula (3-2-5) and Andrew Vasile (2-3-5) each collected five points on the afternoon as JWU outshot the AMCats 48-26 and forced 29 turnovers.
The Wildcats blew the game open in the second, scoring 10 consecutive goals – including three in a span of :33 seconds – to grab a commanding 15-2 lead at the half. Rickett ripped off four-straight tallies in 4:59 while Fye and Padula each added a pair.
Senior Mike Catuosco won 13-of-17 at the X and finished the afternoon with 13 ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Sophomore Kyle Marcinko, meanwhile, registered six ground balls and caused a team-leading four turnovers.
The 19 goals marked the Wildcats highest output since a 23-9 win over Alvernia on March 5, 2020.
