Jonathan Baker scored the game-tying goal in a 1-1 draw with Rochester (NY) University Saturday afternoon in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer tournament at Bello Field on the campus of Tufts University. The Yellow Jackets advanced on penalty kicks, 5-4.

Rochester (NY) (9-2-6) outshot the Wildcats 6-3 through the first 45 minutes and held a 1-0 halftime lead behind a goal from Elijose Araujo. JWU elevated its level of play in the second half and finally drew even when Baker banged in a throw in from classmate

Following a pair of scoreless OT sessions which saw the Yellow Jackets credited with the only shot, the two schools proceeded to penalty kicks to decide who would advance to meet Tufts on Sunday. The first nine student-athletes converted their opportunity with Rochester advancing when the final JWU shooter's shot struck the hand and post of Yellow Jackets goalkeeper Santin Lupica-Tondo.

The Wildcats conclude the 2023 campaign 14-2-5 and outscored opponents 47-10 en route to posting 13 shutouts.
