Wildcats silence Owls, fall to Cardinals

KEENE, N.H. - The Johnson & Wales (RI) University women's volleyball team split its tri-match at Keene State on Saturday, defeating the host Owls 3-1 before suffering a 3-1 setback at the hands of Wesleyan (CT) University at Spaulding Gymnasium.

Match one: JWU 3, Keene St. 1 (25-17, 24-26, 25-19, 25-20)
Junior Peyton Oliver threw down a season-high 20 kills to go with 11 digs and a pair of service aces. Freshman Daniela Rank racked up nine kills (.375 hitting pct.) while junior Sarah Miller filled the stat sheet with nine kills, 19 digs, and two blocks and senior Emily Corbett registered 20 digs.

Match two: Wesleyan (CT) 3, JWU 1 (22-25, 25-19, 8-25, 13-25)
Oliver paced the Wildcats with 14 kills and 11 digs. Miller, meanwhile, was credited with 13 digs and posted six kills, sophomore Kyra Hissner – who handed out 40 assists in the match against KSC – dished out 24 against the Cardinals, and Corbett went for 17 digs.
