BRUNSWICK, Maine – Juniors Brendan Shandley and Hayden Haldane scored goals for the Johnson & Wales (RI) University men's ice hockey team in a 3-2 defeat at Colby College Sunday afternoon at the at the Colby-Bowdoin Classic.
The Wildcats – who were outshot 41-14 – jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind Shandley's third goal of the season 1:36 into the contest and Haldane's second at 15:39 of the first. The Mules got one back later in the first to cut their deficit in half, then scored twice in a span of 4:22 in the second to move in front, 3-2.
Sophomore netminder Jacob Perrin stopped 38 of 41 shots for JWU, which also received assists from senior Kodi Legassie and junior Connor Cameron. Colby went 1-for-6 with the man advantage while the Wildcats were 0-for-1.
