The Johnson & Wales Men's Soccer team to the Engineers of WPI on Tuesday night, 1-0. The Wildcats dropped to 6-3 on the season while the Engineers improved to 7-3-1.
The game was a defensive battle, but the Engineers created the better chances with 7 shots on goal to the Wildcats one. The lone goal came on a penalty kick in the 60th minute for the Engineers, that was placed in the top left corner of the net by Franco Bazzini.
In net for the Wildcats, Jacob Friedman (Woodland Hills, Calif.) made six saves on the seven shots on target he faced. Garret Groeling (Nutley, N.J.) had the lone shot on target for Johnson & Wales, and led the team with three total.
The Wildcats get back in action on Friday night when they welcome Emmanuel (Mass.) at 7:00pm at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic complex, kicking off Homecoming & Family Weekend at Johnson & Wales.
