
BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Johnson & Wales University cross country teams wrapped the fall season on Saturday at the NCAA New England Regional. The men finished 50th place while the women placed 52nd.
All runners set out on a snow and ice cover course, in chilly 20-degree conditions. The men amassed 1,478 on the 8k course while the women scored 1,664 in the 6k race.
Leading the pack for men was Matthew Ursillo as he turned in a time of 29:48.7. Nathan Malorzo and Zach Curry were only five seconds apart with times of 30:07.2 and 30:12.4, respectively.
The top three women's runners were within 35 seconds of each other. The first Wildcat across the line was Haley Chaykowski in 28:52.2. Claire Livernois and Ellie Aliperti followed in 29:01.03 and 29:30.9.
Williams won both the women's and men's races with 64 points and 24 points, respectively.
