STANDISH, Maine – The Johnson & Wales University cross country teams traveled to Saint Joseph's of Maine for the GNAC Championships. JWU men's team placed seventh with 227 points while the women were eighth with 219 points.
The Norwich men won the title with 22 points, finishing 27 points ahead of Colby Sawyer. Emmanuel won the women's race with 44 points, edging Suffolk by 50 points.
Kaylan Dunham had the best result of the day, finishing sixth by completing the course in 20:40 to earn First-Team All-GNAC honors. Next across the line was Hannah Blossom, placing 47th in 23:41. She was followed by Tori Finch at 24:32 to 58th place.
On the men's side, Matthew Ursillo led the pack, finishing 44th in 31:56. Following close behind in 51st place was Nick Pereira as he crossed the line in 32:38. Brent Giles finished less than a minute behind his teammate in 33:31 to place 57th.
The Wildcats wrap up the regular season in two weeks at the NCAA East Regional, hosted by Bowdoin.
