
BOSTON – With the GNAC championship two weeks away, the Johnson & Wales University cross country teams prepared by taking to the course in a strong field of 18 schools at Suffolk Invitational in Franklin Park.
The women's team placed eighth with 172 points while the men took 11th with 309 points. Emmanuel won the women's race and Tiffin was the men's winner.
The best finish of the day was turned in by Kaylan Dunham. She led the Wildcats with a top-10 finish, placing sixth in 20:25. Next to cross the line was Mary Kelly, placing 17th and finishing in 21:06. She was followed by Vanessa Bueti in 41st place at 22:37.
For the men's squad, Matthew Ursillo led the pack, finishing in 51st place at 30:39. Brent Giles and Nick Pereira finished within fractions of a second of each other as Giles took 63rd and Pereira took 64th.
