
The Johnson & Wales University cross country teams competed in the 23rd annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State Saturday morning. Competing against 38 NCAA Division I, II, and III schools, both the women's and men's teams finished in 23rd place.
The women scored 627 points and the men scored 657 points. Smith College won the women's race, while Trinity on the men's.
Kaylan Dunham's effort stood out as she finished 26th out of 214 female runners. Dunham led the Wildcat pack with a time of 19:43.61. Next to cross the line was Hannah Blossom in 133rd place as she finished in 22:26.04. She was followed by Tori Finch in 170th at 24:50.69.
For the men's squad, almost each member improved upon their previous race time. Leading the way was Matthew Ursillo in a 123rd-place time of 30:17.21 which bested last weeks' time by 2 minutes. Cole Geraghty was three minutes faster than last week, finishing in 31:13.04. Nick Pereira improved by two minutes, coming in 142nd place at 31:21.47.
