Women’s Cross Country Takes Second, Men Third at Blazers Invitational. 

CHICOPEE, Mass – The Johnson & Wales University cross country teams had their best showing of the year on Saturday. The women placed second and the men took third at the Blazers Invitational, hosted by Elms College at Chicopee State Park.

Johnson & Wales' women's team scored 37 points, coming in just five points behind first-place Western New England, and 43 ahead of Elms. The men produced 85 points to beat the host Blazers. WNEU also won the men's event with 37 points.

Kaylan DunhamVictoria Barlow and Vanessa Bueti all earned top-10 finishes. Dunahm recorded a top-three finish as she finished in 25:57 to take third. Barlow crossed the line at 26:53 and Beaute followed at 27:43. Seniors Hannah Blossom and Megan Bradley were next across the line at 28:36 and 28:56, placing 12th and 15th, respectively.

Matthew Ursillo led the men's team, finishing eighth on the 8k course in 31:29. He was followed by sophomore Cole Geraghty who ran in 33:07 to take 14th. Junior Nick Pereira cracked the top 10 with an 18th-place time of 33:49. Two spots behind, Brent Giles crossed the finish line at 35:12.

The Wildcats' next race is the Tri-State Championship on September 29th at CCRI Lincoln
