WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior middle blocker Kate Walker (Oakland, Calif.) and junior defensive Elyssa Nicolas (San Francisco, Calif.) earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) nods for the second and third time this season, announced Monday afternoon.
Posting a .377 attack percentage, senior Walker guided No. 15 Johnson & Wales to a 3-0 week, which included a pair of conference shutouts against Simmons and St. Joseph (CT). Midway through the week, Walker notched 17 kills, while dominating the net with four blocks (1 solo and 3 assisted) in a 3-1 win over non-conference Endicott College. Early in the week, against conference Simmons University, the northern California native posted a staggering .462 attack percentage recording 14 kills while tallying four total blocks (1 solo, 3 assisted).
On the defensive side, Nicolas registered 25 digs in the program's second consecutive, 3-1, win over Endicott in the mid-week, non-conference match up.
No. 15 Johnson & Wales returns to the court on Wednesday, October 9 when it travels to Suffolk University for a 7 p.m. tilt in Boston.
