No.15 Women's Volleyball Stays Perfect in GNAC Play With Sweep of USJ

WEST HARTFORD, Conn.  – The No. 15 Johnson & Wales women's volleyball team (14-3, 4-0 GNAC) earned its fourth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win following a 3-0 victory over the University of St. Joseph (CT).

OF NOTE

Holding a 10-6 lead in first set, junior middle blocker Hannah Dolan (San Clemente, Calif.) ignited a 9-0 Wildcat run to take a convincing, 20-6. Senior outside hitter Maria Coniglio (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) notched four kills during the stretch as the Wildcats took the first set, 25-14.

The Wildcat offense remained red-hot into the second set. Hitting .625 as a team, Johnson & Wales registered only two attack errors as it utilized a 12-0 run to take a 21-5 lead and never looked back.

With a 2-0 match advantage over the Blue Jays, the Wildcats came out strong to begin the third set. Sophomore middle blocker Amanda Koch (Tolland, Conn.) capped a 7-3 to start the set with a kill as Johnson & Wales sealed the match with a 25-15 victory.
