Women's Volleyball Claims GNAC Weekly Accolades for Third Straight Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior outside hitter Maria Coniglio (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) and junior libero Elyssa Nicolas (San Francisco, Calif.) were named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player and Libero of the Week honors announced Monday afternoon.

Coniglio became the third consecutive member of the No. 5 Johnson & Wales women's volleyball team to receive the weekly accolades this season. Posting a .357 attack percentage (34-9-70), the Long Island native guided the Wildcats to a 3-0 week, which included a 13-kill performance with one error in a 3-1 over Stevens.

Grabbing the honors for a second straight week, Nicolas was a calming presence in the back for the Wildcats. Over three games, the northern California native registered 49 digs against Springfield, Stevens and Roger Williams, while also tallying five service aces.

No. 5 Johnson & Wales breaks for 10 days before they return to the Wildcat Center court, hosting MIT on Sept. 24.
