NEW YORK – In the final non-conference contests of the regular season, the Johnson & Wales University women's volleyball team got a pair of out-of-region victories on Friday. The number-two Wildcats defeated Hunter, 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-14), then topped Kean, 3-1 (20-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-16).

Maria Coniglio (JWU): 17 kills vs. Hunter / 8 kills vs. Kean
Kate Walker (JWU): 16 kills, .438 hitting % vs. Kean
Hannah Dolan (JWU): 12 kills, 3 blocks vs. Kean
Brylee Frank (JWU): 45 assists vs. Kean / 33 assists, 9 digs vs. Hunter
Elyssa Nicolas: 22 digs vs. Hunter / 20 digs vs. Kean
The Wildcats extended the longest active winning streak in the nation to 26 matches. The first-set loss to Kean snapped a streak of 39-straight sets won.
Hunter pulled within 18-17 in the first set, but Maria Coniglio got one of her match-high 17 kills then went back to serve five-straight points for the set victory. JWU's toughness down the stretch came into play in set two as they finished the stanza on a 6-1 run.
Not too far from her hometown of Old Bethpage, NY, Coniglio hit .394 and had seven digs versus Hunter. Katie Leidhold was next with nine kills and seven digs. Setter Brylee Frank just missed a double-double with 33 assists and nine digs.
Kean hit .312 in the first set to the Wildcats' .194 rate. The Wildcats got better as the match wore on, including a .500 hitting percentage in the fourth set. JWU hit .301 for the match while limiting the Cougars to .131.
Frank handed out 45 assists and Nicolas racked up 20 digs.
Johnson & Wales wraps up the regular season on Saturday when they take on Suffolk and Saint Joseph's of Maine at 12 and 4 p.m.
