PROVIDENCE, R.I.- After earning a first-round bye, the Johnson & Wales women's tennis team (12-1,7-0 GNAC) travels to Winchester, Mass. to take on Simmons (8-7, 4-3 GNAC) in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinals on Saturday, October 19 at 2 p.m. The Wildcats are making their 13th playoff appearance in as many seasons.
Simmons and JWU sit at the top of the conference for championships won with 11 and five, respectively. The last two postseason meetings between these teams have gone in the Wildcats favor, with JWU defeating Simmons to win the 2013 and 2014 GNAC Championships. A win against the Sharks would earn the Wildcats their 13th appearance in the GNAC championship match as they look to avenge last season's loss to Colby-Sawyer in the GNAC finals.
