PROVIDENCE, R.I.- First-year doubles partners Sydney Constantinidi and Kristen O'Connell led the women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over Salve Regina.
Junior Claire Parry and sophomore doubles partner Drew Bobey earned the first Wildcat win of the day with an 8-1 victory. Bobey went on to grab a 6-3, 6-2 win in singles play.
Constantinidi and O'Connell extended the lead to 2-0 with an 8-3 win while first-year Emily Hill and sophomore Kourtney Moore cruised to an 8-0 win to close out doubles with a 3-0 lead.
Hill continued to dominate, opening up singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Senior Gabriela Velazquez also cruised to a singles victory, giving JWU a 4-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win.
Seniors Katherine Ledesma and Katie Mason sealed the victory for the Wildcats with 7-5, 6-1 and 6-4, 6-2 wins, repectively.
The Wildcats will travel to Roger Williams to take on the Hawks on Thursday, October 17 at 3:30 pm for a scrimmage to close out the regular season before taking the top seed in next weekend's GNAC Championships. JWU is set to open play on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
