WINTHROP, Mass. – Last week was a busy one for the Johnson & Wales University women's tennis team as they played four matches. Helping the Wildcats win three of those was freshman Drew Bobey and she was recognized for her efforts with GNAC Rookie of the Week.
It's the second time this season the Charleston, SC native has been recognized by the league. She picked up her first award on September 4th. Katasha Jarvis from Regis was named Player of the Week.
Bobey was nearly perfect as she posted a 7-1 record between singles and doubles. She was 3-1 at No. 5 singles, with the lone loss against Springfield, and was perfect in doubles with partner Claire Parry at number two. Bobey and Parry are tied for the team lead with six singles victories.
Tuesday's match with GNAC newcomer Eastern Nazarene was postponed until October 8 so JWU's next match is Saturday at Suffolk.
