Seniors Lead Wildcats to a Homecoming Victory

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior Cat Nolan helped lead the women's soccer team to their eleventh straight win and an 9-0 record in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with two goals in a 6-1 win at home versus Rivier University on Saturday afternoon.

Olivia Cairrao: 1 goal, 1 assist
Molly McCormack: 1 goal

Colleen Lynch: 10-1 record, 1 save
Kasey Smith: 1-10-2 record, 14 saves

 

Of Note:
Cat Nolan struck first for the Wildcats, scoring two goals in a 2 minute and 29 second span. Olivia Cairrao and Alexis Vieira were credited with the helpers.  

Kasey Smith was tested early and often by the Wildcats, totaling eight saves in the first half.

JWU added to their final goal total with goals from Molly McCormack, Chloe Martinez, and Tiana Strachan. Olivia Cairrao also scored in the 78th minute to bring her season point total to 40, along with her 17th goal of the season, both career highs. Cairrao has scored goals in four straight games.

Jenna Dzubak notched her first collegiate goal in the 88th minute to cap off the victory.

The Wildcats will host the Pride of Regis College, Wednesday October 23 at 7 p.m. This game was originally scheduled to be played at Regis but was moved to Johnson & Wales due to EEE.
