WINTHROP, Mass. – Sophomore forward Jordan Restivo (Utica, N.Y.) and senior goalkeeper Colleen Lynch (New Milford, Conn.) were named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player and Goalkeeper of the Week announced Monday afternoon.
Restivo helped Johnson & Wales stay perfect, improving to 5-0, in conference play notching a pair of goals in back-to-back victories over Lasell University and Colby-Sawyer College. Midway through the week against Lasell, Restivo scored the opening and game-winning goal in the 28th minute on a pass from Cairrao, before adding an insurance goal in the 60th minute. Late in the week, lightning struck twice, Restivo opened finding the back of the net in eighth minute. Later in the half, she scored the game-winner in the 22nd minute on pass from Chloe Martinez.
Lynch continued her dominant play in net for the Wildcats. Early in the week, she picked up her first shutout of the season - 25th of her career - registering seven saves in a 2-0 win. Lynch closed out the week earning the the 2-1 win on the road against Colby-Sawyer where she allowed just her first conference goal of the year.
Johnson & Wales is back in action on Wednesday, October 9 hosting the University of St. Joseph (Conn.) at 7 p.m.
