WINTHROP, Mass. – A seven goal, 14-point week helped junior midfielder Olivia Cairrao (Bristol, R.I.) grab Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week accolades announced Monday afternoon. Cairrao guided Johnson & Wales to a 2-0 week, which included decisive victories over conference foes Albertus Magnus College and Norwich University to keep the Wildcats perfect in GNAC action.
Midway through the week, Cairrao scored five of the Wildcats six goals in a 6-3 victory over Albertus Magnus. Her 10 points against the Falcons Wednesday evening was the most points recorded against a GNAC opponent in a single-game this season and surpassed the previous single-game high in 2019 (previous mark was nine goals by Suffolk's Caleigh O'Brien vs. Mass Maritime). Cairrao closed out the week with a two-goal afternoon in a 6-1 victory over Norwich on Saturday.
Johnson & Wales is back in action on Wednesday, October 2 hosting GNAC foe Lasell College at 7 p.m.
