Wildcats Fall Short In Season Opener

Potsdam, NY– The Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team opened the 2019 season with a 3-2 setback against Clarkson University on Friday evening.  The Wildcats striked first but ultimately fell short after tying the game with 15 minutes remaining.

Of Note:
Johnson & Wales opened the scoring in the twelfth minute off the foot of first year forward Jordan Petrucci, her first collegiate goal.

The Golden Knights struck back with two straight goals to take the lead 2-1 in the 54th minute. Jordan Restivo tied the game with 15 minutes remaining in the second half. Danielle Martin netter her second goal of the evening to go ahead 3-2 in the 78th minute.

The Wildcats outshot the Golden Knights 23-12 and had seven corners to Clarkson's four.
