KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Over the last two years, Johnson & Wales University sophomore women's soccer student-athlete Olivia Cairrao has become one of the top scorers in the region. She was recognized for her performance this season with Third-Team All-New England honors from the United Soccer Coaches.
It's the second USC All-Region selection for the Bristol, RI native. Cairrao was a second-team pick in 2017. She is the first player in program history to earn multiple all-region honors.
For the second year in a row, Cairrao has been one of the top scorers in the GNAC. Last year's Rookie of the Year, she ranked second with 15 goals and third at 33 points. She was second in the league with four game-winning goals. Named GNAC Player of the Week on October 29, Cairrao had five multi-goal games including two against Colby-Sawyer in the GNAC Quarterfinals.
Even though she's only been in the program for two years, Cairrao is already on the JWU all-time top 10 in a number of categories. She's fifth with 32 goals and ninth at 72 points.
Head coach Chris Flint will have to replace seven seniors off this year's team, but brings back his top three goal scorers for the 2019 season.
