PROVIDENCE, RI – Regulation and two overtime periods were not enough to get a winner between the Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team and UMass Dartmouth. The Wildcats and Corsairs played to a 0-0 draw on Monday.
JWU tied for the first time in 2018 as its record went to 10-5-1. UMass Dartmouth tied for the fourth time this year at 5-5-4.
Johnson & Wales had a number of scoring opportunities with a 35-5 advantage in shots, but Korina Miguel stopped all 10 shots she faced. In the waning seconds of the second overtime, Olivia Cairrao's shot from point-blank range went just wide.
The Corsairs' best chance to score came in the 72nd minute. JWU keeper Colleen Lynch had to make a diving save on Kaitlyn Bernier's blast from just inside the box. Lynch has not given up a goal in her last 402 minutes of play.
Johnson & Wales is back at home Wednesday to host Suffolk at 7 p.m.
