Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Emmanuel To Wrap Up GNAC #2 Seed

BOSTON – A goal in each half propelled the Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Emmanuel and the number two seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament.

Emmanuel: 11-7-1, 8-2-1 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 15-3, 10-1 GNAC

Of Note:
In the 31st minute, Molly McCormack (Livingston, NJ) fed a pass to Olivia Cairrao (Bristol, RI) and she buried it in the back of the net for the eventual game-winning goal.

Junior Deja Hursey (Columbia, Md.) added to her GNAC-leading total when she scored her 22nd goal of the season at the 62:42 mark. Hursey is four goals short of the JWU single-season record.

JWU goalkeeper Colleen Lynch (New Milford, Mass.) stopped both of the shots she faced to improve to 15-2. Both teams took nine shots.

Next Game:
The GNAC Tournament begins on Saturday for the Wildcats. The number two seed, Johnson & Wales will take on Albertus Magnus at 7 p.m.
