Strong Showing for Women’s Rowing at Kerr Cup

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Facing tough competition and tougher conditions, the Johnson & Wales University women's rowing team took part in the Kerr Cup. The 2,000k event was hosted by Drexel University on the Schuylkill River.

With Tatiana Windley as the coxswain and Olivia Fougere serving as the stroke, the Varsity 8 turned in a  time of 7:30.12 to take third in their heat. Against a strong headwind and choppy water, JWU was fourth in the petite final at 7:59.32.

The second Varsity 8 saw a nine-second improvement from the prelims to the petite final. Guided by coxswain Lauren Rohde and stoke Caroline Donahue, the Wildcats crossed the finish line in 8:10.77 to take second in the petite final.

Johnson & Wales turns its attention to the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship on April 27 at the Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry, Pa.
