JWU got six free points when Rhode Island College forfeited at 125 pounds. Jay Albis was an easy winner at 133 pounds with his 16-0 tech fall over Daniel Murray. Luke Moynihan used a third-period escape and takedown to win 11-5 against Francisco Roman at 141 pounds.
The first pin of the night came at 149 pounds where Joe Ferinde pinned Devante Rogers at the 1:18 mark. Getting another pin was Da'mani Burns in just 1:08 over Zach Ford at 157 pounds. Securing the team victory was Sam Tenaglia when he recorded a 22-7 technical fall at 165 pounds against Tim Caplan.
Notching the Wildcats' third pin was Michael Gargano as he took down Nathan Stemple at the 7:06 mark of their 174-pound bout. The Anchormen got on the board at 184 pounds where Michael Gallagher posted a 14-3 major decision against Ryan DeVivo.
Freshman Tommy Wrzesien continued the strong start to his collegiate career with a pin at the 2:25 point of his 197-pound bout against Matthew Bourquin. RIC won the final bout when Travis Manick topped Liridon Leka, 4-3.
Johnson & Wales is back on the mat November 30 when it travels to the Spartan Invitational, hosted by York College.
