A successful collegiate student-athlete, Casey Blakeney is in her second year as an assistant for the Johnson & Wales University women’s lacrosse team. Last year she helped the Wildcats claim the first GNAC championship in school history.
Blakeney played defense for four years at NCAA Division I Albany. A native of Sterling, Mass., she received her bachelor’s degree in sociology with a concentration in criminal justice from Albany in May of 2016.
She assists head coach Jessica Scannapieco in all facets of the program, particularly on defense. In 2017, Johnson & Wales ranked fourth in the league with a 8.48 goal against average while leading the conference with 209 caused turnovers.
Currently, Blakeney works at the Rhode Island Department of Department of Environmental Management Law Enforcement as a clerical support aid.
