BRISTOL, RI – The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team couldn't hold on to a first-half lead at Roger Williams University on Tuesday. The Hawks outscored the Wildcats, 9-4, in the final 30 minutes to hand JWU a 14-12 loss.

The Hawks scored the first goal less than one minute into the contest, marking the first time JWU had trailed in the opening period this season. Ten minutes later, the Wildcats took the lead by scoring two goals less than 16 seconds apart.
Senior Allison Pazienski contributed all five of her goals before halftime. She found the back of the net twice in the final 90 seconds to send the Wildcats into the half with an 8-5 lead.
The beginning of the second half, the Hawks came out focused as they went on a 5-0 run to take a 12-10 lead.
At the 10:40 mark in the second half, the Wildcats regrouped as Madeline Bishara scored to start a 3-0 run that swung the lead to JWU, 11-10.
Unfortunately, the Hawks outscored the Wildcats, 3-1, in the last five minutes to steal the victory.
The Wildcats return to Scott's Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex on March 13th at 7 p.m. to take on Simmons in their GNAC opener.
