PROVIDENCE, RI. – The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team won its home opener against Coast Guard Academy on Sunday. The Wildcats outscored the Bears in the second half, 10-6, on their way to a 15-10 triumph.

JWU: Cassidy O'Hara (W, 2-1): 6 Saves, 10 Goals
Coast Guard scored the first two goals of the contest, but it did not take long for JWU to answer the call.
The Wildcats went on a 4-0 run to take a 4-2 lead. Senior Allison Pazienski scored two of her game-high four goals during the run.
As the first half ticked away, Madeline Bishara scored her second goal to give the Wildcats the momentum going into the half with a 5-4 lead.
The beginning of the second half was a back and forth battle until the Wildcats started to pull away at the 18-minute mark.
Six different Wildcats scored – including two goals from Maria Patane – during a 7-1 run that opened a 15-8 advantage with 5:25 remaining in the game.
Johnson & Wales outshot the Bears, 42-21, including 20-7 in the first half.
The Wildcats travel to Roger Williams University Tuesday for a 3:30 pm start.
