Women’s Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Academic Award

PROVIDENCE, RI – For the last two years, the Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team has dominated the GNAC on the field and in the classroom. The Wildcats won back-to-back conference titles and had most GNAC representatives on the Zag Sports IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

Johnson & Wales was recognized with an IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad award for having over a 3.0 team grade point average during the 2017-18 academic year. First-year head coach Jessica Scannapieco's squad posted a 3.4 GPA.

The Wildcats had seven student-athletes on the Zag Sports IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll for having at least a 3.50 GPA. The seven honorees are the most of any school in the conference and ranked seventh nationally.
