PROVIDENCE, RI – For the second year in a row, the Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team finished the conference schedule with an unblemished record. The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season Wednesday by beating Norwich, 23-4.
Norwich: 7-7,5-5 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 14-2, 10-0 GNAC
Raquel Pederzani: 6 goals, 4 assists
Allison Pazienski (JWU): 4 goals, 2 assists
Maria Patane (JWU): 4 goals, 1 assist
Meaghan McGrath scored six minutes into the first half to tie the game at 3-3. Johnson & Wales outscored the Cadets 10-1 the rest of the half to take a 13-4 advantage into the locker room.
Johnson & Wales outscored the Cadets 10-0 in the second half with seven different players scoring a goal. Norwich was limited to two shots in the final 30 minutes with one on goal.
JWU had a 42-11 advantage in shots and picked up 20 ground balls compared to 12 by Norwich.
The Wildcats open the GNAC Tournament on Saturday against Rivier at 1 p.m.
