PROVIDENCE, RI – A fast start propelled the Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team to its eighth victory in a row. The Wildcats defeated the University of Saint Joseph, 20-0, on Saturday.

Johnson & Wales: 9-1, 6-0 GNAC

The win was the Wildcats' 23rd GNAC victory in a row, tying the record set by Saint Joseph's during the 2015-17 seasons. Johnson & Wales last conference loss came against the Monks on March 26, 2016.
It's the second shutout in program history. JWU blanked Anna Maria, 21-0, on March 25, 2014 during the inaugural season.
Johnson & Wales got out to a quick lead, scoring four times in the first four minutes of the game. Twelve different players scored in the first half as JWU took a 16-0 lead into the locker room.
Fifteen players found the back of the net for the Wildcats, led by three from Allison Pazienski. She also played the final 30 minutes in goal. Freshman Dani Lydecker topped all players with six points (two goals, four assists).
Johnson & Wales won 17 of 22 draw controls and had 15 shots while the Blue Jays did not record a single shot. JWU also had a 29-14 advantage in ground balls.
The Wildcats go on the road Tuesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference tilt at Westfield State.
