PROVIDENCE, RI – An Allison Pazienski goal in the final 70 seconds and a big defensive stop propelled the Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team to its sixth-straight victory. The Wildcats rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Lasell 16-15 on Saturday.
Lasell: 8-6, 4-3 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 9-5, 6-1 GNAC
JWU Statistical Leaders:
Lydia Knapp: 5 Goals, 3 Assists

With the victory, Johnson & Wales is guaranteed to host a GNAC Tournament quarterfinal game on Tuesday, May 4. The Wildcats are still in the running for a share of the regular season conference title.
Down 15-13 with 12:07 to play, Johnson & Wales got back-to-back goals by attacker Raquel Pederzani (Coventry, RI) to pull even at the 2:49 mark. A foul by Lasell's Lisi Anczok turned the ball over to JWU and the Wildcats capitalized when Pazienski (New Hyde Park, NY) took the pass from Pederzani and buried in the back of the net for the game winner.
JWU won the ensuing draw but turned it over to the Lasers. Lasell had a free position shot with 12 seconds remaining but JWU goalkeeper Cristal Benton (Albany, NY) came up with the save to preserve the victory.
The Wildcats found themselves down 6-3 midway through the first half before midfielder Lydia Knapp (Glens Falls, NY) scored three-straight goals. She tied her season-high with nine points on five goals and four assists. She assisted on Elizabeth Tonn's (Wantagh, NY) goal and scored another as the two teams went into the locker room tied at 8-8.
Knapp – who scored multiple points for the seventh game in a row and 13th overall - was one of five Wildcats to score two or more goals. Pederzani had five points, three goals and two assists, while Tonn, Kayla Smith (Eastham, Mass.) and Isabella Saluti (Chatham, NJ) found the back of the net twice.
The Wildcats travel to Rivier for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday.
